Privacy notice

1. Who we are

Cyberwareness is a security awareness training brand operated by AkolagTech ("AkolagTech", "we", "us"). Our training is delivered on the Skillermatic learning platform, which is also operated by AkolagTech. For this website, AkolagTech is the data controller.

2. What we collect

You can browse this site without giving us any personal data. We only collect:

• Demo and contact requests: your name, work email, company name, team size, country and the message you send.
• Cyber Risk Quick Check: the quiz runs in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us unless you choose to contact us about your result.
• Technical data: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request, used to keep the site secure and working.

We do not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or social media pixels on this site.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

• To answer your request (for example, booking a demo or sending a quote): based on your consent when you submit the form, and on taking steps you asked for before a contract.
• To keep the site secure (spam and abuse prevention, troubleshooting): based on our legitimate interest in protecting our service.
• To follow the law where we are required to keep or share information.

We never sell your personal data.

4. Who we share it with

We only share data with service providers that help us run this site and reply to you:

• Amazon Web Services (hosting, email delivery), in the United States.
• Cloudflare (Turnstile bot protection on our forms).
• Our own hosting servers, run by AkolagTech on Amazon Web Services.

These providers may only use the data to provide their service to us. Because our providers are in the United States, your data may be transferred outside Nigeria or your country. We rely on the safeguards these providers offer, such as contractual commitments and encryption, and on your consent where required.

5. How long we keep it

• Demo and contact requests: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a customer.
• Server and security logs: up to 90 days.

6. How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored on access-controlled systems. Only the AkolagTech team members who need it to answer you can see it.

7. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and similar laws in other countries, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct data that is wrong;
• delete your data, or limit how we use it;
• move your data to another service where that applies;
• stop using your data, or withdraw your consent at any time.

Email privacy@cyberwareness.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in Nigeria and are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). If you are elsewhere, you can contact your local data protection authority.

8. Training platform data

This notice covers cyberwareness.com only. When your organization uses our training, staff data on the Skillermatic platform is handled under the Skillermatic terms and privacy notice, and under the agreement we sign with your organization. In that case your employer decides how staff data is used and we process it on their behalf.

9. Children

This site is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top. Important changes will be shown on this page.
